Honoring a PLA Graduate

Former EC student overcomes hardship to graduate on-time at Pacific Learning Academy

Due to a health related situation, Kathryn opted to meet her high school graduation requirements 1-on-1.

Kathryn was a student at Eastside Catholic and unfortunately suffered a concussion at the beginning of her junior year. She struggled in school after that, and found it difficult to keep up with her current workload.  She came to Pacific Learning Academy initially to take a French class, but soon discovered that the Academy could offer her much more.  Kathryn chose to complete credits via 1-on-1 instruction in French 2, English 11 & 12, Pre-Calculus, US History, and more.

“It is not uncommon for families to find us after their child has suffered a hardship during their high school years. Sometimes those hardships are temporary setbacks, and sometimes the need for ‘something different’ will extend for a while. We are there to provide education by design and get our students the extra help to complete their graduation requirements, ” says Kirsten O’Malley, Founder of Pacific Learning Academy. “It is an honor to be a part of Kathryn’s high school education experience and we enjoy seeing our students thrive in a 1:1 setting.”

Kathryn graduated from Pacific Learning Academy this June and PLA’s intimate ceremony allowed each of her teachers to say a few words, as well as members of Kathryn’s family.

Kathryn will be attending Suffolk University Boston in the Fall. All of us wish Kathryn the best of luck in this next chapter of her life!
