Celebrating a move to a new space in Sammamish
Pacific Learning Academy’s new Sammamish location offers local 1:1 educational services to middle and high school students
Pacific Learning Academy, a one-to-one accredited private school and in-home tutoring service, celebrated the move to a new office at the Pine Lake Professional Center in Sammamish with a ribbon cutting ceremony last Thursday, August 24th. Bob Keller, Mayor of Sammamish, wielded the official City of Sammamish ribbon scissors with help from Academy owner Kirsten O’Malley and Sammamish Chamber Executive Director, Deb Sogge. Attendees included current instructors and those that worked for the Academy over the years, current and past Academy parents, students, and Chamber friends.
Pacific Learning Academy has served families in the Issaquah/Sammamish area for 10+ years, and is the only in-home, one-to-one accredited school and tutoring service in the area. Academy instructors have extensive knowledge of local curriculum, allowing them to individualize tutoring and credit courses with an eye on the student’s next-step goals. Tutoring and credit courses are held in students’ homes, local libraries and (now) the new Academy location at the Pine Lake Professional Center. The move to the Sammamish location will provide added convenience to Sammamish students and their families.
“Sammamish is the center of our academic world, and we love that this office will bring us closer to the Middle and High School families that we work with,” said Kirsten O’Malley, Founder and Executive Director. In addition to providing tutoring and test prep to students in the Issaquah and Lake Washington School Districts, Pacific Learning Academy is also a WA-state, fully accredited, NCAA-approved, one-to-one school offering single courses, dual enrollment, and accelerated graduation. Ms. O’Malley ran the educational service from her home or small offices for years and is proud to finally see the Pacific Learning Academy sign up at the Pine Lake location where Academy coordinators are based and the SAT/ACT Comparison test is held monthly.
“The Sammamish Chamber of Commerce is happy to be celebrating the Grand Opening of Pacific Learning Academy in Sammamish. We have worked with Kirsten O’Malley both as President of our Chamber and respected business owner,” says Deb Sogge, Executive Director of the Sammamish Chamber of Commerce. “We are proud that Sammamish is the home for her school.”
