PLA Tutor in Katmandu – GoFundMe request after earthquakes

Some of you may remember Chemistry instructor Brit Stender, a popular tutor who worked at the Academy as he was finishing his teaching degree and student teaching at Eastlake High School. Brit moved to Nepal and started a financial company there about 8 months ago, and was well on his way toward his goal of employing 50 Nepalese when the tragic earthquakes hit.

On April 25th, a magnitude 7.5 Support the rebuild in Nepalearthquake devastated Kathmandu, killing thousands of people. Brit and his business partner are safe, but they are still searching for about half their workforce. Brit and his business partner, Carson, have started a gofundme account to help their employees get back on their feet. To learn more, you can see their page at: Brit and Carson’s GoFundMe account

Unfortunately, yet another earthquake hit this morning. Seeing that on the news prompted me to share this page with you. Pacific Learning Academy has donated $500 to Brit and Carson’s funding request, but I know they would appreciate any amount (from anyone!) and would also love for you to share their GoFundMe information whether or not you’re in a position to chip in.

We are really proud of Brit and his work, and are glad to count him among a team (past and present) that never ceases to amaze me.

Thanks,

Kirsten O’Malley
