The Four Steps

Celebrating Women in Business 2016

The Four Steps – Changing the Conversation

In this speech at the 2016 Celebrating Women in Business Conference, Kirsten O’Malley introduces us to The Four Steps, transforming the way we communicate and understand at the office, at school, and in the home.

Being a life-long learner isn’t easy, but everything we do to improve our understanding of the world has a benefit to us and to others. We all want to communicate better and puzzle out what’s actually happening, but typically we want the change to happen in the OTHER person, and sometimes we get mad!

In her speech, Pacific Learning Academy’s founder, Kirsten O’Malley, covers empathy, curiosity, road rage and the anterior insular cortex, all in one light-hearted but impactful speech introducing The Four Steps, a communication tool she first learned from her friend and business coach, Christina Marie Kimball of Artful Thinking. Watch, learn and enjoy!

The mission of the Sammamish Chamber of Commerce Women in Business is to equip and encourage professional women to thrive at home, at work, and in the community. Founded in 1999, the Sammamish Chamber of Commerce is a community-based organization that believes in making connections and building relationships and therefore building business. Kirsten O’Malley was President of the SCC in 2005 and continues her involvement today. For more information, visit http://www.sammamishchamber.org.
