Why so many textbooks on our shelves?

The Academy is currently working with students in 4 school districts, 7 private schools and homeschoolers.

The materials we use with a student are decided by where they’ve been, and also where they are going.

With extensive knowledge of the local schools and curriculum, Pacific Learning Academy not only matches students to the right instructor, but to the right curriculum!

If a student will be taking Algebra 2 at Eastlake High School next fall, then we’ll want to use the Geometry book from the Big Ideas series. If the student is taking Algebra from Skyline or Issaquah, we’ll use enVision. Although we have many texts to choose from, students appreciate using the same books as their District. That way, a student walks into the next level course familiar with the curriculum and having covered the same material as their classmates.

We also have resources on our shelves for students who did NOT feel their last textbook was helpful. Some books stand alone, and others are used as supplements to other textbooks. The right fit for every individual student is important and we love creating a learning environment that is not only comfortable for a student but that makes sense in the context of their future goals.
