Hey, Juniors and Sophomores, want to cut your test prep in half? If you’ve been dreading spending months prepping for both the SAT and ACT, Pacific Learning Academy has great news for you! We offer a comprehensive SAT/ACT Diagnostic Test that mimics the questions and conditions of the real SAT and ACT. Afterwards, you and your family will receive a 9-page report detailing your performance and recommending which test you should prioritize. This is followed up by a 15-minute phone call where we walk you and your parents through the analysis. You’ll be armed with information, shortcuts, and ideas for how to tackle your test prep process!
Since 2007, all colleges in the US accept both the SAT and the ACT, and it’s a myth that schools prefer one over the other. So unless you just love taking standardized tests (yes, there actually ARE people like that out there), you don’t need to spend your precious time on both of them. Pacific Learning Academy’s Diagnostic is a shortcut, and the first of many you’ll learn as you prep for the test that fits you best.
Pacific Learning Academy offers a proctored SAT/ACT Diagnostic almost monthly, and you can self-proctor or form a group of your own anytime if you wish!
JUNIORS: Take the diagnostic as early in the year as you can (assuming you’ve finished Algebra 2). Students usually like to have 3-4 months of prep time before taking the SAT or ACT “for real.” However, some students have shown marked increases in only 4-6 hours of prep. The sooner you have the data you need (via the diagnostic report), the sooner we can help you craft your test prep. Some students do self-study, utilizing materials online and the test prep books available at any bookstore, and we fully support that (which is free!).
SOPHOMORES: You may think it’s too early to start worrying about the SAT and ACT, but being proactive now can save you so much time and effort down the road. If you want to have a carefree summer between your junior and senior years, you’ll want to make sure your test prep is as efficient as possible next school year. (Your parents will also thank you, since they won’t be spending money prepping you for a test that isn’t best for you). The rule of thumb is to wait until you’ve finished at least most of Algebra 2 before tackling the diagnostic.
